Google Q1 Earnings Rise 9% as Sales Top $5.5bn (Computer Business Online via Yahoo! UK & Ireland News)

Google has reported a 9% increase in net income to $1.42bn for the first quarter 2009, compared to $1.3bn in the year-ago quarter, on revenue up 6% at $5.5bn. Operating income grew 22% to $1.88bn, while diluted EPS grew 9% to $4.49. Net cash provided by operating activities was $2.25bn.
